What a grape day sounds like

If you love castles, history, good food and wine then let Grape Escapes Germany whisk you away from the busy city of Frankfurt to the breathtaking and historic Burg Eltz, hailed as “ One of the most beautiful - original castles in Europe.” What does a grape day out sound like: Based on pick up location Frankfurt, Cochem, Koblenz or Mainz we have about a 1-hour drive on the Autobahn before arriving in the picturesque green countryside of the Mosel. As you travel, sip back and relax on a glass of Mosel sparkling Riesling, renowned for its crisp and refreshing taste that perfectly complements the idyllic scenery. Arriving at Burg Eltz ready for a walk through the enchanting forest that protects the castle. We will join an English speaking guided group tour. After the 40-50 minute tour there is a chance to explore the families wealth in the grand treasury. After all the steps up and down to the castle you will be hungry for a delicious lunch of Schnitzel or Spätzle at a charming wine tavern in the Mosel. After lunch we will visit a winery for a deep dive into the wines and history of the Mosel which was an important part of the kingdom’s economy. If you prefer more history than wine it’s potentially possible to visit another castle instead.
