Do you believe in chance?
I believe everything happens for a Riesling.

My Vision
"Grape Escapes"

For more than 15 years I’ve been on one grape escape - chasing the world's finest food and wine through Sydney, Melbourne, Amsterdam and Hamburg, before finally landing where the magic happens: the Rhine Valley.

Somewhere along the way, Germany stole my heart. Not just the wine, though the Riesling alone is reason enough, but the stories behind it. The steep slopes, the ancient cellars, the families who have tended the same vines for generations. I knew I had to share it.

That's what Grape Escapes is. My way of opening doors that most travellers never find - private tastings, hidden estates, long lunches with winemakers who pour from bottles they rarely show anyone. Every escape is different. Every one is personal.

Why Weinkopf? Because I'm one. A true winehead, obsessed with the glass, the story, and the people behind it. I take wine seriously. The rest? Life's too short for bad wine and rushed sips.

The Story Behind the Escape

Spätburgunder or Gewürztraminer may not easily roll off the tongue, but pour them and all is forgiven.

Germany has been crafting extraordinary wine since the Romans first planted the vines along the Rhine. Today it produces some of the world's most elegant and aromatic varieties, with Riesling reigning supreme. Yet the finest bottles rarely leave the country. Locals know what they have and they're not in a hurry to share it. That's exactly why Grape Escapes exists.

Every escape is built around you. The most beautiful vineyard terraces, the hidden family estates, the winemakers who open their cellar doors only for those who truly appreciate what's inside. Fine wine, long lunches, breathtaking views and the kind of stories that only come from going deep into a region — not just passing through it.

Small groups by nature. Private by request. And always, always personal.

Tell me what makes you thirsty — and I'll make sure we find it.
