As you descend from the Eifel forest into the Mosel Valley, the landscape changes completely — breathtakingly steep vineyards dropping to the river, charming villages unchanged for centuries, and a winemaking heritage that stretches back to Roman times. This is Riesling in its purest form. One grape, a thousand expressions — from bone-dry and mineral to sublimely sweet, from crisp young bottles to rare older vintages that reward patience. We visit a mix of critically acclaimed grand cru estates and small boutique producers where I've built personal relationships over the years, unlocking tastings that aren't available to walk-in visitors.
