Leave the hustle of Frankfurt or get out of Mainz for the day and indulge in a full-day journey to Heidelberg — Considered one Germany’s most romantic and timeless destination. Set along the gentle curves of the Neckar River and framed by forested hills and sun-kissed vineyards, Heidelberg area offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and scenic views. 1st Stop: After about 1hr 15min drive down the Autobahn we will arrive at Heidelberg Castle overlooking Heidelberg’s enchanting Old Town. We will explore its impressive Renaissance courtyards, grand terraces, romantic ruins while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views across the red rooftops and river valley below. The castle’s atmosphere offers panoramic photo opportunities. While entry to most rooms the castle are not open to public we can go into see one of the worlds largest wine barrels. 2nd stop. Walk through old town for a feeling of vibrant café culture and academic elegance. As you stroll through cobblestone streets lined with pastel-colored baroque buildings, you’ll discover hidden corners, historic squares, and shaped by philosophers, poets, and scholars of Germany’s oldest university town. A must stop is Karl Theodor Bridge From here, you can enjoy postcard-perfect views After all the walking and sights enjoy a regional lunch in local wine or beer tavern. After lunch we will go wine tasting in the surrounding wine regions. Enjoy 1-2 wine tastings based on time in the Rheinhessen or Hessische bergstraße What is included in your tour to the Heidelberg area. * Convenient hotel pick up and drop off around 10:00 return around 17:00 * Entry to Heidelberg Castle. * Go off-road into the vineyards getting you up close to the vines and amazing views.
